La Bolla Sconce by Martinelli Luce, 1960s

La Bolla means ‘the bubble’ in Italian, designed by Italian icon Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce in the 1960s. Combining elegance, simplicity and functionality La Bolla was inspired by the shape of soap bubbles. This timeless design can be used as a ceiling or wall mounted fixture. 

The sconce is made from a single piece of white acrylic, which has been heated and molded into its distinctive spherical shape. The piece is lightweight, durable and creates a diffused light that is warm and inviting. In excellent condition due to the proximity of its use.
